We’re all the same when we’re dead and buried right?
Not so, if you were a member of Buenos Aires elite.
El Cementario de la Recoleta – a cementery in Buenos Aires residential neighbourhood Recoleta – is a miniature marble city for the (now deceased) rich and famous, and a popular tourist destination.

Across a 14-acre site there are lanes, alleyways and around 4,500 ornate vaults. Stroll around and you’ll see art deco, baroque, art nouveau and neo-gothic mausoleums including the final resting place of Eva Peron.

It’s a grand, ornate, miniature marble city for Buenos Aires now-deceased Argentinian elite.
